Who is Dick Caine?

Caine was the Carss Park Swimming Pool’s head coach. After more than 40 years service, he retired in 2018. Dick was born February 13, 1946 and is now 76 years old. He was born in Sydney’s Surry Hills, Australia.

In March of this year, he was inducted into the Australian Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame. In his 51 years of training, 17 swimmers went on to win Olympic or global titles. They included Michellie Jones and Michelle Ford, JanelleElford, Karen Phillips, Stacey Gartrell, and Janelle Elford.

As Caine was head coach, professional athletes like Jeff Fenech, Kostya and Sonny Bill Williams used Carrs Park’s swimming pool and gym.

Dick Caine is a well-known swimming coach who will request that all charges against him regarding the sexual assault of two teenage students in 1970s will be dropped.

Caine, aged 76, was taken into custody on Wednesday, 22 June 2022 at Condell Park. He is being charged with three counts each of indecent attack and six counts for teaching students between the ages 10 and 17 years with carnal knowledge.

At the time of the alleged offences (which included sexual assault claims), carnal knowledge was a crime under the Crimes Act.

Kings Cross Police Area Commander Chris Nicholson, Acting Superintendent, said that the girls were aged 15 and 16 at the time. They were allegedly subject to sexual assaults over a period of 18 months in different places in and around Sydney’s southern suburbs.

Dick Caine, the renowned swimming coach was released on bail after being accused of sexual abuse of young athletes he was teaching.

At 7:15 a.m. today, the 76 year-old man was taken into police custody at Condell Park in Sydney’s south-west. He was escorted by Bankstown Police Station and charged with nine charges. During today‚Äôs bail application, Caine was informed by the court that he still has six months to live. He also has terminal lung and throat cancer.

Caine was granted bail to allow him to continue with his therapy. Caine will be back before the judge next month.

Caine is accused of allegedly abusing two teenage students in a swimming school at Carss Park (in Sydney’s south) in the 1970s. The initial allegation was made by a woman who claimed that she was abused at a swim school in the 1970s. She submitted it in January 2018.

The testimony of the court showed that a former Australian swim coach, who was accused in 1970s of sexually abusing 2 children, only had six months to live. Dick Caine, aged 76, was taken into custody this morning at his Sydney home in southwest Condell Park. He was later charged with nine other offenses.

Through a video link from Bankstown Police Station Mr. Caine was able to appear in court today. Jennifer Caine, his wife, testified in his presence and said that her husband has terminal cancers of the throat and lung.
