Lisa Reeves: Who are you?
Lisa Reeves was Sylvia Elise Mitchell Reeves’ daughter and Rodger Wayne Reeves’ late son. Gordon was her husband. Randall Gwathney AKA Randy; their neighbors touted them as a “normal couple.” However, their marriage did not last long, with Sylvia having already filed for divorce, as per reports. Lisa had already left Randy and moved to her home in Lee County, Arkansas to be with her maternal grandparents, Evelyn Elise Wilson Mitchell and James Oliver Mitchell Jr.
Randy was visiting his ex-wife in Lee County the night before, and they began to argue over a credit line and financial problems. Randy hit Sylvia and Lisa with their fists, and the argument quickly escalated into violence. She advised Randy to immediately leave her child alone or she would call police. Randy, unafraid, turned on Lisa and beat her. Lisa then escaped his grasp to grab her cell phone and call for help.
Upon hearing gunshots, Lisa barricaded herself in her grandparents’ room and escaped through the window to her brother, Travis Reeves’ house next door. Travis went to the scene to see what was going on and was shot multiple times. The St. Francis County Sheriff’s office received a panic 911 call from Lisa at around 1:45 am, and officers were immediately dispatched to the scene. The first officer to reach the Reeves’ home, Randy shot Tracy Jackson as well, but he managed to escape the scene before any officers could reach him.
Tracy and Travis were both found with serious but not fatal injuries by law enforcement officers who arrived at Travis’s home. Travis had been shot five time, while Tracy was wounded by shots that penetrated his patrol car’s windshield. They were immediately treated at a Memphis hospital. However, investigators found out that Sylvia, James, and Evelyn weren’t so lucky. Sylvia was executed-style while her grandparents died from gunshot wounds.
Lisa Reeves is still alive today.
Randy was arrested based on his ATM card activity. He was allegedly trying to flee to Mexico border. Randy was captured in his pickup truck, containing two weapons and ammunition, in Laredo Texas at 7:30 PM on February 14, 2007. He was taken to Arkansas was convicted in Arkansas of 3 capital murder charges and 1 each of attempted capital and first-degree murder just a few days later.
Lisa was the witness in Randy’s trial; he was convicted of the crime and sentenced. Life without parole and 40 years imprisonment in the November 2009 trial. Lisa will never forget those February 2007 nights when her entire family was killed at the hands of her husband. However, we’d like to believe she is trying her best to stay strong. Lisa seems to be living a private life at the moment and prefers to keep her whereabouts secret from the public.
