Yordan Ruben Álvarez is a famous Cuban professional baseball left fielder and designated hitter for the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2019 for the Astros. What happened to Yordan Alvarez
Yordan was unable to play against Oakland on Sunday so he went to Houston as his right hand injury is still a problem. Danielle Lerner from the Houston Chronicle reported.
Yordan won’t miss Sunday’s game, but he will be in Anaheim for the next 3 games against the Angels. Yordan will be back by the Astros later in the week against A’s. However, Yordan could miss the entire week due to the All-Star break immediately after that series.
Yordan Alvarez Injury
Yordan Álvarez went back to Houston for treatment after being placed on the 10-day injured list due to a right-hand injury that has become worse, according to manager Dusty Baker.
Yordan broke his hand in June 18th against the Chicago White Sox. Since then, Yordan has been experiencing soreness, inflammation, and other symptoms. The Astros expect him not to play in the next 2 series, but he may return after the All-Star break.

Yordan Alvarez Wife
Yordan Alvarez has been married to Monica Quiros. The couple were married in 2018. Monica was born February 1998 in Camaguey in Cuba. Later, she moved to Tampa, Florida with her family. She attended A.P Leto High school. Yordan, Monica and Jordan have two children, Mia and Jordan. Mia was born at St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital, Tampa, Florida on November 6, 2018.
Yordan Alvarez 2022
On May 13, 2022, in a 6–1 win versus the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park, Yordan hit his 11th home run, helping to extend an Astros’ winning streak to eleven games. On June 2, 2022 he signed a 6-year contract extension for the Astros in the amount of $115 million. The deal also bought out 3 years of free agency that would keep Yordan on the team through the 2028 season. On July 4, 2022, Yordan hit his 1st career walk-off home run versus the Kansas City Royals, securing a 7–6 win.
