Shahid Kapoor, an Indian actor, appears in Hindi-language films. He gained popularity initially for his romantic roles. His father moved to Mumbai where he later married actress Supriya Panak. Kapoor, however, remained in Delhi with his maternal grandparents and mother. Rajesh Khattar was an actor who Azeem married. Khattar, Kapoor were housemates until their divorce in 2001. Kapoor still uses the last name Khattar on his passport. His mother’s previous union of Khattar with Ishaan made him his maternal half-brother. He has two paternal siblings, Sanah (the father) and Ruhaan (the mother).

According to The Times of India Kapoor met Rajput through Radha Soami Sitsang Beas, a Dharmic organisation. The pair exchanged vows in Gurgaon on July 7, 2015 during a private ceremony.
