Rick and Morty Season 6 Episode 6 Review

The episode, titled ‘Juricksic Mort,’ opens with Rick driving Morty to school. Rick comments on Morty’s dimension-hopping in this season. However, Rick takes Morty’s comments as a taunt and reassures the teenager that he will fix the portal gun. At school, Morty’s teachers and students are alarmed after the arrival of an alien spaceship on earth.

They are intelligent aliens that look like dinosaurs. They arrive on Earth in peace. They become disillusioned with humans after learning that the dinosaurs they had fought have been extinct and were replaced by human beings. They decide to let the dinosaurs manage the earth, which is a good thing since they like helping civilizations.

In the meantime, people can relax and enjoy their leisure time. They have the freedom to enjoy more Marvel movies and their peaceful lives. The dinosaurs address global issues like hunger and economic crises. They end capitalism and restore equilibrium to society. But Rick and his family feel utterly useless and are essentially transformed into Jerries.

Jerry on the other side writes a book that is a manifesto about the dinosaurs. He does not get credit for his work. Rick is approached by the President of the USA. He admits that he’s bored from the peace provided by the dinosaurs. Rick asks him to get rid of all the dinosaurs. Rick agrees to host the Oscars ceremony in return. Rick reluctantly accepts and takes over the responsibility.

Rick tells the world that dinosaurs attract a huge screaming meteor to every planet they visit. The dinosaurs are effectively dooming the planets that they claim to be helping to prosper. They are embarrassed and asked for clarification on numerous news programs. Rick discovered this phenomenon and they were shocked to learn about it. The dinosaurs leave the planet and the humans go back to their normal jobs.

Rick and Morty Season 6 Episode 6: Does Rick Stop The Meteor? Where are the Dinosaurs Going?

Rick hosts the Oscars after the dinosaurs have left the Earth. After learning that aliens have been hiding on Mars, Rick abandons the ceremony. Rick discovers that the dinosaurs want to sacrifice themselves in order to save the Earth. They will act selflessly and win back respect from humans. Rick sees the plan of the dinosaurs and plans to stop them. He attempts to convince the dinosaurs that they should abandon their plans. However, they refuse, and Rick joins them in the sacrifice, not wanting the aliens to be the only “virtuous” ones.

Rick’s addition lessens the impact of the dinosaurs and their sacrifice. The meteor is destroyed by one of the dinosaurs who refuses to take it in. Thus, Rick’s little game proves that the dinosaurs weren’t actually benevolent and were merely enjoying the “Godly” status they received because of their helpful nature. After Rick foils their plans, the pair return the favor and fix the rift in multiverse Rick had been avoiding. Rick, however, is furious at them for fixing their rift and claims it would have made a great three-episode story arc for the show.

Rick finally sees through the facade of the dinosaurs and dispels the aliens from earth. Morty then promises Rick that they will soon be having some old-school adventures. He fixes the portal gun. The portal-hopping technology is now back in use and viewers can expect to see it in future episodes. In the scene after credits, the dinosaurs find themselves bored when they land on another planet. Because they are basically retired, they skate. The episode uses the dinosaurs as a way to emphasize that selflessness is not always better than selfishness. Rick is able to accept the concept of selflessness and selfishness thanks to the help of the dinosaurs. Rick is inspired to finally fix both the portal gun and the multiverse.
