PatientPoint Buys Rendia

PatientPointa Cincinnati-based provider for a patient engagement platform. Rendia is a Baltimore-based provider for a point of care engagement software.

The amount of the deal has not been disclosed

PatientPoint will expand its offerings in new areas such as optometry, ophthalmology, and other specialties with the acquisition. The transaction also enables Rendia customers to gain access to additional engagement solutions through PatientPoint to help them deliver continual, connected care across the patient’s entire care journey. As part of the transaction Rendia’s name will be retained, and the company will be referred to as Rendia, a PatientPoint® company.

Rendia is led by Smitha, the CEO. Rendia offers point-of-care content to eye care professionals on a monthly basis. The company’s point-of care engagement software assists over 8,000 eye care professionals in improving patient outcomes, enhancing the patient experience, and generating incremental revenue growth by increasing patient acceptance of surgical and medical procedures. The  company also has a presence in ENT and audiology.

PatientPoint is led by Mike Collette, CEO. It offers tech-enabled services that facilitate doctor-patient interactions and provide value for patients, healthcare sponsors, and providers. Its tech-enabled points-of-care network now connects healthcare providers with patients in 20 medical specialties.

CEO Smitha Gopal will assume the new role of EVP of Subscription and Procedure-Based Specialties at PatientPoint.
