Gradient AI Buys Healthcare Analytics Business Unit from Prognos Health

Gradient AI, a Phoenix, PA-based enterprise software provider of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions in the insurance industry, acquired Prognos Health’s analytics business underwriting unit.

The deal’s amount was not disclosed.

With the acquisition, Gradient AI will leverage data from the company’s large collection of integrated medical records and lab data via its real-world data marketplace and expand its medical database capabilities by integrating Prognos Health’s data with SAIL, its medical underwriting solution.

Prognos Health is based in NYC and focuses on making data accessible for all by leveraging technology as well as clinical experience. Prognos Health allows data to flow freely, and helps organizations make data-informed business decisions by streamlining and simplifying access to multi-dimensional, fit-for-purpose real-world data sets. Prognos, a real-world marketplace for data with integrated RWD across 325M patients, is called Prognos. All data purchased on the Datavant token is interoperable with all other patient-level Datavant tokens.

Gradient AI’s CEO Stan Smith is the leader of the company. Gradient AI provides AI solutions for the insurance sector. Its solutions improve loss ratios and profitability by predicting underwriting and claim risks with accuracy, as well as reducing quote turnaround times and claim expenses through intelligent automation. Gradient’s software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform leverages a vast dataset comprised of tens of millions of policies and claims.  It also contains many other features such as demographic, geographical, and economic information. The customers include many of the most well-known insurance carriers, MGAs TPAs risk pools, PEOs, and large self insureds from all major lines of insurance.
