What is Fake About?

The trailer shows that what started out as two fake identification cards to purchase alcohol turns into an empire. Even though Zoe (played in the trailer) thinks anyone could make these cards, she makes them, impressing Rebecca (played in the trailer). They try them out in a shop, only to be pointed out the fake address. They begin to think about what they could do if they continued creating fake addresses while they flee the scene, armed with their cards and alcohol.

They approach Tryst, played by Richard Harmon, and present their work to him. He estimates that he can move 200 cards. They are printing the cards and then selling them to customers. Their new business makes them a lot of money because they own a penthouse and cars. Because of their financial success, they throw fabulous parties and dress spectacularly. They are young and everything seems to be going well.

The Hustle

When Tryst pursues them, he demands $30,000 or 200 fakes for payment. Did they break their promise to give 200 fakes? Did they take the books they had given him? They are threatened by him, throwing their belongings into a pool of water and burning paper, and sending them into a spiral inside the trailer. They are unsure whether to ignore him, or believe him when they say he is able to hurt them. Although it’s obvious that police broke up their operation at their penthouse party, it is not clear if he called police or if they just tracked them down.

Fakes stars Jennifer Tong, Emilija Baranac and plays two teenage girls who are looking for hustle. But they eat more than they can chew. Emilija is from Canada, she’s performed in Riverdale, Charmed and To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You. Jennifer Tong worked in “Grand Army”. Rounding up the cast we have Debbie Podowski, Mya Lowe, Matreya Scarrwener, Eric Bempong, Toby Hargrave, and the show’s executive producer is David Turko, who worked in Warrior Nun.
