Dead By Daylight Developer Update Perk Changes

The Dead By Daylight Developer Update changes 39 DBD perks. They are divided into 2 categories, one for survivors and the other for killers. Non-meta perks and meta perks are separated. These are the perk changes made in the Dead By Daylight Update

Killer Meta Perks

  • Barbecue and Chilli: The Bloodpoint Bonus is being removed

  • Hex: Ruin: Reducing regression speed to 50/75/100%

  • Pop Goes the Weasel: A generator will now lose 20% its current progress (not total).

  • Corrupt Intervention: Will deactivate when a Survivor enters a death state.

  • Tinkerer: Now, you can only activate one generator with a base cost of 90

  • Hex: No One Escapes DeathSurvivors will be able to see the Hex Totem’s aura in less than four meters after activation. In 30 seconds, this range will increase to 24 meters.

  • Scourge Hook: Pain ResonanceSurvivors won’t scream anymore and the generator won’t explode if they lose progress.

Survivor Meta Perks

  • Dead Hard: The Endurance effect only activates for one second

  • Decisive Strike: The Exit Gates will now be powered and the stun will automatically deactivate. The stun duration will be reduced to three seconds.

  • Borrowed Time: Will increase the Endurance effect’s duration to 6/8/10 secs and increase the movement speed bonus duration to 10 secs for any Survivor you unhook. These effects will be cancelled if an unhooked Survivor does a conspicuous action.

  • Iron Will: Lowering the grunts associated with pain reduction to 25/50/75%. Iron Will will not be active when Exhausted but it won’t cause Exhaustion.

  • Self-Care: Heal speed will drop to 25/30/35% and item efficiency bonus has been removed completely.

Killer Non-Meta Perks

  • Overcharge: Along with its current effects, Overcharge will cause a kicked generator’s regression speed to grow from 100% to 400% over the course of 30 seconds.

  • Eruption: Increased the generator regression penalty from 10% to 15/20/25 seconds and the duration of incapacitated effect by 25 seconds.

  • Knock OutKnock Out, in addition to its current effect on the survivors, will cause them to crawl 50% slower for 15 second and reduce their recovery speed 25%.

  • Coulrophobia: To make healing in the Killer’s terror radius even more unappealing, Coulrophobia will now increase the speed of skill checks by 50% on top of its current effect.

  • Dark DevotionDark Devotion will now activate when the Obsession loses their health state.

  • Jolt: Jolt allows a Killer to regress generators by simply taking down a Survivor. We have removed the cooldown in order to make it more consistent.

  • Lethal Pursuer: Lethal Pursuer will extend the duration all aura-reading effects by 2 seconds on top of the current effect.

  • Scourge Hook: Gift Of Pain: Increase the action speed penalty to 10%/13/16%

Survivor Non-Meta Perks

  • Calm Spirit: In addition to Calm Spirit’s current effects, you can now open chests and cleanse and bless totems silently, albeit at 40/35/30% reduced speed.

  • Saboteur: Saboteurs have spent months studying to be able to identify Scourge Hooks. When a Survivor is carrying them, their auras will be highlighted in yellow. You can use this information to your advantage and prevent Scourge Hook benefits from being activated.

  • Off the Record: Once you are unhooked, you will be able to enjoy the Endurance status effect for 60/70/80 second. If you perform a conspicuous act, the Endurance effect will be lost.

  • Lucky Break: Each second spent healing another Survivor increases Lucky Break’s duration by one second (the total time cannot exceed the starting duration).

  • Pharmacy: Now, Pharmacy will activate whenever you’re injured, guaranteeing an Emergency Med-Kit when you search a chest. This effect can occur multiple times in a single trial.

  • Sole SurvivorSole Survivor will hide your aura and increase your generator repair speed of 75% and your exit and hatch action speed of 50%. These effects only work if you are the last Survivor standing.

  • Distortion: Gain 1 token for every 30 seconds spent within the Killer’s Terror Radius.

  • Lightweight: In addition to Lightweight’s existing effects, your scratch marks will be more sporadic, making you harder to track. Your scratch marks will fade 5/4/3 seconds faster, up from 3/2/1.

  • Déjà Vu: To help Survivors power the three closest generators, Déjà Vu will now grant a 5% repair speed bonus to the revealed generators.

  • No One Left Behind: No One Left Behind will grant an additional 7% speed bonus to any Survivors that are unhooked. The perk activates now when the gates are opened rather than powered.

  • Dark SenseDark Sense activates when a generator has been turned on. For 5/7/10 seconds, the Killer’s aura will be visible next time they come within 24 metres of you. Dark Sense is then disabled.

  • TenacityTenacity reduces your grunts and pain by 75% in the dying state.

  • Hope: While hope is great for those who enjoy making late-game saves it can also expire quickly. The duration of this perk has been removed completely as it is only valid at the end the match.

  • OverzealousCleansing a totem in its current state grants you a 6%/7%/8% repair speed bonus. If you cleanse a Hextotem, this bonus doubles.

  • We’re Gonna Live ForeverThis perk, much like Chilli and Barbecue has a massive Bloodpoint bonus. Behaviour does not want Bloodpoints to dictate which perks are used, so they’ve removed the bonus Bloodpoints from We’re Gonna Live Forever

Dead By Daylight Synopsis

A group of four survivors must escape a killer intent to hook them and sacrifice them to “The Entity”, an all-powerful, malicious being. The killer is first-person from the survivors’ perspective. The only way for survivors to fight back is by stuning the killer or blinding him with objects like flashlights. Survivors can also jump over obstacles faster than the killer, which allows them to flee. These obstacles and gadgets help survivors stay away from the killer. To escape, survivors will need to repair five generators that are scattered around the map. They can then either open the exit gates to evacuate the area or locate an escape Hatch in which they could jump. Repairs can be made faster by using toolboxes.
