BactolifeFunding was provided by USD5 million to a Copenhagen, Denmark-based company that provides gut microbiome and health services.
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation committed the amount.
The funds will be used by the company to increase the impact of its technology platform and to develop Binding Proteins. This is a novel biologic solution that reduces the risk of intestinal infections in animals and humans.
Led by Mads Laustsen, CEO, and Sebastian Søderberg, Deputy CEO, Bactolife is a company committed to advancing gut microbiome health in the food and feed industry. Bactolife utilizes its Binding Protein technology to find novel biological solutions. It helps overcome the challenges of antimicrobial resistance, as well as the general burden associated with infectious diseases. Its proprietary platform allows for the production of Binding Proteins by using a technology that doesn’t directly target growth or kill bacteria.
