Apowiser, a Ra’Anana, Israel-based provider of a chatbot-based system to support customers in the online purchase of Over-the-Counter (OTC) drugs, raised $1.5m in seed funding.
Longliv Ventures, a member CK Hutchinson Holdings Limited, led the round.
Co-founded in 2021 by Prof. Eyal Schwartzberg, the former Head of Pharmaceutical & Enforcement Divisions of the Israeli Ministry of Health, Apowiser PharmAssist is a digital platform that helps consumers to find OTC medication. It allows users to quickly and discreetly learn about their condition and identify any issues that need to be escalated to a healthcare professional. They can also check for potential allergies or sensitivities to OTC medication ingredients and then purchase the appropriate OTC product. PharmAssist uses published medication data as well as a deep understanding about the pharmacy practices. The current platform covers more than 600 OTC drugs & complimentary products, enabling treatment for more than 40 healthcare scenarios.
PharmAssist is already in use by Super-Pharm, Israel’s largest drugstore chain, operating more than 280 branches across the country with an accompanying strong online presence.
