Anandibaa (a grandmother and social figure) and Emily (a Western daughter-in law who wed Aarav are the main characters of the show. Aarav, who lives in Gondal currently, has always wanted the opportunity to emigrate to America. Emily, however, has always wanted India. Their paths inevitably cross thanks to a shared connection, and humorous turmoil shows how Emily might or might not fit into the ideal Indian family cliché.
